Making Sense of Orlando – Send Love

by | Jun 16, 2022 | Blog

Many of you have responded to the Orlando and other escalating tragedies.  The question is how can we make sense from all of this?  Here are my thoughts:

First, we cannot let the actions of one individual define us.  We must not respond in kind, instead follow the Platinum Rule: “Do unto others as you would wish done unto you.” That means we send our compassion to the families of the victims who have sacrificed their lives as we try to make sense of the actions and the demented hatred of another.

Hatred is an emotion that runs deep and the only way to combat it is with love.  The souls who surrendered their lives loved this world so much they became the sacrificial lambs.  Through this act of terror a cause to soften bias and bigotry may resolve. We may all learn to live with more acceptance of our differences.  We may learn to harmonize and work together.  We may once again scrutinize the use of guns.

As the pendulum swings closer to our saturation points, we may search for a better way to live.  Bless those brave individuals for their sacrifice and let’s send prayers for harmony, peace and understanding around the world.  Let’s send love. Together, we can make a difference!
